The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Agency for the Protection and Attraction of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic held a business forum "The Revival of the Silk Road: Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan" in the era of interaction" at the Sheraton Hotel. The purpose of the Forum is to attract Pakistani investors, develop bilateral trade and tourism, exchange experience in the struggle against COVID-19 and to arrange closed meetings between representatives of the business community of the two countries. The event was opened by the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Eric Beishembiev, who stressed the need to intensify Kyrgyz-Pakistani trade and economic relations in the context of the negative impact of COVID-19 on the world economy. On the Pakistani side, all participants were welcomed by Mr. Nazir Hussain, Executive Director of the Lahore Peace Research Center, and Mr. Awais Rauf, Chairman of the University of Lahore. The Speaker of the Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani, addressed the forum participants with an online congratulatory speech.

Within the framework of the Forum the Rector of the Eurasian International Medical University Esen Saliev signed two Cooperation Agreements with the Rector of the University of Lahore, Mr. Aweis Rauf, and the Vice-Rector of the University of South Asia, Mr. Mian Imran Masood, on establishing cooperation in the field of educational initiatives.

The Forum was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, with more than 90 participants from the Kyrgyz side and more than 60 participants from the Pakistani side.
